I "tweet" (and am still amused that this has become a routinely used verb in our society) mainly for work-related purposes, communicating announcements of new clients or new developments at BohlsenPR. I enjoy reading media-related newsletters and journals and tweeting interesting articles as well, generating interest in media-related subject material. I use it as a resource for breaking news, and I also enjoy following health and fitness publications, too -- always like to get new recipes!
Useful in professional networking, I've found it beneficial in connecting with professionals in the media and communications industries, in addition to obtaining recommendations from supervisors.
My Blog
A relatively new addition to my social networking expertise, I began a blog simply because I enjoy writing. Both personal and professionally related, the blog chronicles what I am calling the "step in between" as I carve my path out of college and into the professional world, in addition to revealing what I'm learning in the media and communications world -- an ever changing environment in need of constant adaptation.

I've discovered HootSuite is a fantastic tool for coordinating social networking platforms, especially in a communications or media related work environment where constant updates and edits are crucial for success. Using the dashboard has made using social media in a work setting much more efficient.
Drama You Can Afford
A Facebook fan page, this was made in conjunction with the marketing campaign I was a part of for the Indianapolis Opera. I was in charge of social media as well as writing press releases and establishing media relations contacts, in addition to copywriting and helping with design. A group effort of seven students and two professors, we successfully changed the marketing strategy for the Indianapolis Opera to better appeal to young professionals. A $10 ticket campaign for those under 25 was implemented alongside our marketing tactics, and we achieved a 305 percent increase in ticket sales for the Opera in a two month time period.
